Adjustable Voltage and Current Protection with Automatic Reconnection
The Potric POVD Digital Voltage Protector combines over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-current protection in one intelligent device. If the line voltage or current goes outside the limits you set, it powers off the line to protect your equipment from damage. When the supply returns to normal, it reconnects automatically after a time delay.
The dual digital display shows live voltage and current together, so you can check your supply at a glance. Indicator lights show power, over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-current.
19 Functions and Settings
- Power-on delay and recovery delay: protect compressors and motors from repeated start-ups.
- Over-voltage protection and recovery values.
- Under-voltage protection and recovery values.
- Voltage trip time: avoids nuisance trips from brief fluctuations.
- Voltage adjustment: calibrate the voltage reading by ±10%.
- Over-current protection value and trip time.
- Over-current counter: after a set number of repeated trips, the output stays off.
- Current adjustment: calibrate the current reading by ±10%.
- Fast power-down protection: can be switched on or off.
- Display modes: standard, manual, or automatic.
- Automatic reset: can be switched on or off.
- Action (manual ON/OFF) function: can be switched on or off.
- Energy-saving mode: can be switched on or off.
- Lock: a password stops unwanted changes to your settings.
Key Features
- 63A rating for whole-home supply or heavy-load circuits.
- Dual digital display of voltage and current.
- Wide adjustable limits: over-voltage 130-300V, under-voltage 80-210V.
- Transient protection: helps protect equipment from false operation during transient over-voltage.
- Protection against unstable supply: disconnects the line during sudden power-off and power-on caused by loose connections.
- Built for fault peaks: the protector itself is not damaged when the line fault voltage reaches its peak.
- Compact design: 37mm wide, DIN rail mounting.
Typical Applications
- Homes and apartments with unstable mains voltage
- Air conditioners, refrigerators, and freezers
- Water pumps and water heaters
- Shops, offices, and small workshops
Installation Note
Connect the supply to the top (IN) terminals and the load to the bottom (OUT) terminals. Install a suitable MCB or main switch upstream of the protector.
Important Note
A voltage protector guards against voltage and current abnormalities. It does not replace a circuit breaker or an RCD. Use it together with a suitable MCB or RCBO for short-circuit and electric shock protection.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a voltage protector do?
It disconnects your equipment when the supply voltage or current is outside the set limits, and reconnects it when the supply is safe again.
Why is the recovery delay important?
Compressors in air conditioners and refrigerators can be damaged if power returns and drops repeatedly. The delay gives them time to stabilise.
Can I lock the settings?
Yes. Use the lock function to set a password so settings cannot be changed by accident.
Can I use it with a three-phase supply?
No. This model is for single-phase systems. See our three-phase POVD protectors.
Does it replace my circuit breaker?
No. Use it together with your MCB or RCBO.
Do I need an electrician to install it?
Yes. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in line with local regulations.
