Adjustable Protection for Homes and Equipment Against Voltage and Current Faults
The Potric POVD Digital Voltage Protector monitors your single-phase mains supply continuously and disconnects the load when voltage or current moves outside the limits you set. When the supply returns to normal, it reconnects automatically after an adjustable delay. This helps protect air conditioners, refrigerators, water heaters, pumps, and electronics from voltage surges, voltage drops, and overloads.
The dual digital display shows live voltage and current at the same time, so you can check your supply at a glance without a separate meter. Indicator lights show normal operation, over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-current.
19 Functions and Settings
- Over-voltage protection and recovery: set the cut-off and reconnect voltage.
- Under-voltage protection and recovery: set the cut-off and reconnect voltage.
- Over/under-voltage trip delay: avoid nuisance trips from brief fluctuations.
- Over-current protection: set the current limit and the trip delay time.
- Over-current count: after a chosen number of over-current trips, the output stays off until reset.
- Power-on delay and recovery delay: protect compressors and motors from repeated start-ups.
- Voltage and current calibration: fine-tune the readings by up to ±10%.
- Fast power-down protection: can be switched on or off.
- Display modes: choose standard, manual, or automatic display.
- Automatic reset: can be switched on or off.
- Manual switch function: turn the output on or off from the front panel.
- Energy-saving mode: can be switched on or off.
- Password setting: prevents unwanted changes to your settings.
Key Features
- 63A and 80A ratings: suited to whole-home supply or heavy-load circuits.
- Dual digital display: voltage and current visible together.
- Wide adjustable limits: over-voltage 130-300V and under-voltage 80-210V.
- High accuracy: voltage accuracy better than 1%.
- Automatic recovery: power returns by itself once the supply is stable.
- Compact design: 36mm wide, DIN rail mounting, with simple N and L terminals.
Choosing the Right Rating
- 63A: suitable for most homes, apartments, and shops.
- 80A: suitable for larger homes and heavier loads, provided the cable and installation are rated for it.
Always match the rating to the load and cable cross-section, as specified by a qualified electrician.
Typical Applications
- Homes and apartments with unstable mains voltage
- Air conditioners, refrigerators, and freezers
- Water pumps and water heaters
- Shops, offices, and small workshops
Installation Note
Connect the supply to the IN terminals (N and L) and the load to the OUT terminals. Install an MCB or main switch upstream of the protector, as shown in the wiring diagram supplied with the product.
Important Note
A voltage protector guards against voltage and current abnormalities. It does not replace a circuit breaker or an RCD. For short-circuit and electric shock protection, use it together with a suitable MCB or RCBO.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a voltage protector do?
It disconnects your equipment when the supply voltage or current is outside the set limits, and reconnects it when the supply is safe again.
Why is the recovery delay important?
Compressors in air conditioners and refrigerators can be damaged if power returns and drops repeatedly. The delay gives them time to stabilise.
Can I change the protection limits?
Yes. Voltage limits, current limit, delays, and calibration are adjustable from the front-panel keys. You can also set a password to lock the settings.
Can I use it with a three-phase supply?
No. This model is for single-phase systems (N and L). See our three-phase POVD protector for three-phase supplies.
Does it replace my circuit breaker?
No. Use it together with your MCB or RCBO for complete protection.
Do I need an electrician to install it?
Yes. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in line with local regulations.
